What South fringe is like
The southern fringe is where Saphan Kwai stops being distinctly itself. Walk far enough south along Phahonyothin and you are in Ari, which is a stronger and much more written-about neighbourhood brand, with the café and restaurant scene to match.
The blur is not just geographic. Businesses as close as 141 m from BTS Saphan Khwai brand themselves "Ari", because Ari sells better, and their centre of mass sits about 600 m south of the station. So a place on this page may well describe itself as being in Ari while sitting comfortably inside our boundary. We list it under where it is, and note the distance.
Our boundary deliberately stops short of Ari's core. We are not trying to rank for Ari, and diluting into its territory would weaken both. If you are choosing between the two areas rather than browsing one, the comparison guide is the more useful page.
What is here
Counts are of our dataset inside the 1.2 km boundary, not of the neighbourhood.
A place in two categories is counted in both.

What this page counts.
55 is a count of our dataset, not of South fringe.
A further 7 records here hold too few usable fields to publish, so
they are excluded from every count on this page. Street stalls and market vendors are under-represented in map-based business data,
and services such as pharmacies and laundries are barely covered at all. The full
picture is on our methodology page.
