Saphan Kwaiสะพานควาย
What is actually here, counted rather than curated.
This is an independent directory of 529 places within 1.2 km of BTS Saphan Khwai station. We hold no reviews and no photographs, so we do not tell you where is nice. Instead we publish what can be checked: who is open at 9pm, who opens before 7am, who trades on a Sunday, how far each place actually is from the station, and, for the 137 places where footfall data is published, which hour of the week is quietest.
The dataset, in four numbers
- 585
- places held inside the boundary
- 448
- publish opening hours, and that is what most of this site is built on
- 137
- publish footfall data, so we can name their quietest hour of the week
- 16
- have a usable photograph, which is why this site is drawn rather than shot

Nine kinds of place, and how many of each there are
A place can sit in more than one of these: a Japanese restaurant is counted under both Japanese and Restaurants. The stroke under each is its share of the largest set, so you can read the shape of the neighbourhood at a glance.

02 — Answers to specific questions
Each of these is every place that passes one mechanical test
Not a top ten. The rule is stated on the page, the count is whatever the rule returns, and if the rule returns four places then the page has four places on it. All of it comes from the 448 places that publish their hours.

03 — Where things are
Saphan Kwai is not the same all the way through
So we split it into seven sub-areas, assigned geometrically from the station and then checked against address tokens in the source data. Boundaries you can reproduce, rather than boundaries by feel. The whole thing is plotted on one map.
- Chatuchak Market 239 The weekend-market end of the boundary, and the largest sub-area by far.
- Pradiphat Road 86 The neighbourhood food spine: the densest run of small restaurants and stalls.
- South fringe 62 Where Saphan Kwai blends into Ari and Sanam Pao.
- Station core 59 Everything within a few hundred metres of the BTS exits.
- Saliratthawiphak 58 The quieter residential pocket east of the railway.
- Or Tor Kor 50 Thailand’s best-known fresh market and the everyday trade around it.
- Phahonyothin north 31 The main-road corridor north of the station.
The closest place in the dataset to the station is Everyday Chicken Rice (Evryday ข้าวมันไก่), 42 m away. How the seven sub-areas differ, and why we drew them.
What this site is not
We have not visited these places. Ratings shown anywhere here are ratings recorded on 2 August 2026, not our reviews, and we do not reproduce review text.
There is no photography, and there are gaps in what our data covers: street stalls and unregistered vendors are under-represented in any map-based dataset. Treat every count here as a floor rather than a census, and read the methodology page, where the rest of the gaps are written down.
